My Journey

Talofa, my name is Leilani Tuimalatu, and I'm the proud founder of Alofa Lei. I'm 20 years old and one of eight siblings.

From a young age, l've always felt a deep connection to my culture. Whether it was helping in my family's Polynesian business, Kiwi Pacific, preparing traditional Samoan dishes alongside my grandmother, or creating dances (siva Samoa) with my cousins - these moments shaped the way I see the world. They taught me that culture is not just something we inherit - it's something we live, breathe, and share.

I carry my mixed heritage with pride. Being of both Samoan and English descent has never made me feel divided - instead, it's given me a powerful perspective and a unique way to express Polynesian beauty to the world.

The name Alofa Lei is deeply intentional. In Samoan, "alofa" means love, and "lei" represents my name, Leilani. Just like the ending of a gift card, "Alofa Lei" means Love, Leilani. It's a tribute to our Pasifika women, to our culture, and to young women who may be struggling with body confidence.

Alofa Lei is a love letter to my roots and to all the strong women who came before me. It's a tribute to the love, strength, and self-confidence they've poured into me, I hope to do the same in each package.
